Foreign banks have also increased interest rates on FD deposits of select tenures.

Banks have increased the interest rate

Some foreign banks offer better interest rates than some of the leading banks in India.
Foreign banks are offering higher interest rates as compared to HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and other banks.

FD gives interest at a fixed rate

The amount deposited in FD gets returns at regular intervals and at a fixed rate of interest. 

Deutsche Bank is paying 7.25 percent interest on Fixed deposits. Deutsche Bank is offering the highest interest rate among foreign banks. To get 7.25 percent interest, the investment period should be 3 to 4 years.

Citibank is giving 6.75% interest on Fixed Deposit. For this the investment period should be 181-400 days.

SBM Bank is offering 6.60 percent interest rate on Fixed deposits. For 6.60 percent interest, the investment period should be from 18 months to 5 years.

DBS Bank and HSBC Bank are offering 6.50 percent interest rate on Fixed Deposit. The investment tenure in DBS Bank is 541 days to 3 years and in HSBC Bank it is 732 days to 36 months.

Standard Chartered is offering an interest rate of 6.25 percent on Fixed deposits. The investment tenure should be from 391 days to 18 months.
