Meta India: Facebook’s parent company Meta appointed gaming veteran Sandhya Devanathan as India head


MetaIndia: Facebook’s parent company Meta has appointed Sandhya Devanathan as the head of Meta India. A week after the resignation of former country head Ajit Mohan, Sandhya Devanathan has been made the India head. Sandhya Devanathan’s focus will be on bringing business and revenue. She will report to Dan Neary, Vice President of Meta APAC, and will also be a part of the APAC leadership team.

Sandhya Devanathan will take over as Meta India Head on January 1, 2023, after which she will return to India to lead Meta India and formulate its strategy. Along with preparing the India Charter, Sandhya Devanathan will be responsible for establishing better relations with Leading Brands, Creators, Advertisers of the country.

If we look at Sandhya Devanathan’s 22-year career, she has worked in the banking, payment and technology sectors. He joined Meta in 2016. He then went on to build the company’s business and team in Singapore and Vietnam. Sandhya Devanathan helped set up Meta’s e-commerce business in Southeast Asia.

Meta’s Chief Business Officer Marne Levine said that India is at the forefront of Digital Adoption and Meta has launched many top products like Reels and Business Messaging in India. Recently we have launched JioMart on WhatsApp to give shopping experience to the customers in India. It is with great pleasure that I welcome Sandhya Devanathan as the new leader in India.
